9 Reasons to Support Local Athletic Events
Earlier this month my husband and I rode the Moab Century, a 100-mile bike tour, on our tandem. During our ride, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery, well-stocked aid stations, and camaraderie of being out on the roads with several other cyclists from around the country....
Don’t Fear Foot Pronation
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines pronation as “rotation of the medial bones in the midtarsal region of the foot inward and downward so that in walking the foot tends to come down on its inner margin.” If you look at the image below, you can see an image of...
Osteoarthritis is a Symptom of Postural Misalignments
At 38, my doctor diagnose me with severe (grade 4) bone-on-bone left hip osteoarthritis. Since I was too young for a joint replacement, he advised me to reduce my activity level and avoid any movements that hurt. When the pain was excruciating enough, and my activity...
Posture, Presence, and Personal Power
“Our bodies change our minds . . . and our minds change our behavior . . . and our behavior changes our outcomes.” This was written on one of the slides in Amy Cuddy’s popular TED Talk, Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are. Her point is this: how we express ourselves...
Age is Not To Blame for Your Sports Injuries
Many people blame injuries and pain on their age. However, I'm here to tell you that you don't need to give up sports just because you're growing older. Sports themselves do not cause your injuries, either. Sports are not bad! We are designed to move and play for all...
What is Athletic Toughness?
Is athletic toughness pushing through the pain and possibly compromising your body for future sports participation to compete in a race? OR Is athletic toughness having the integrity to listen to your body, make self-respecting choices and think beyond today’s game?...
Who’s in Charge of Your Health?
My mother's doctor told her that she had six months to live. She followed her doctor’s prediction and died within that time period. A client informed me it would take a year to recover from his plantar fasciitis. He didn’t make any progress until 12 months had passed....

Meet Jessica!
I believe we are designed to move and play throughout our entire lives. I don’t buy into the idea that we should slow down with age, or that pain, injury and physical restrictions are unavoidable aspects of growing older. So here’s my philosophy. Our mental mindset, combined with the physical position and condition of the body that we bring into any activity (from walking to skiing to everything in between), determines our chance of hurting when we move. If we have a positive mindset, and if we have proper positioning and move with correct body biomechanics, all activities should be possible.
This is the goal I have for everyone: to overcome pain and limitations so you can Stay in the Game for Life!

“Walks with strength and ease. My testimony to your work is that I am recovering over-all strength, I’ve re-learned how to walk and now have enough abdominal strength to support a free, healthy stride, and my bunion has improved so much that my toes quit hurting about a year ago, and now I can wear more normal shoes. Wow! Thank you!”

“Improved Quality of Life. Learning and practicing posture fitness exercises has eliminated my chronic pain incurred from sport injuries, computer work and stressful lifestyle habits. Jessica’s weekly live posture class is a great addition to my personal exercises she has given me. Her thorough explanations helps reinforce the correct techniques for exercises that I continually practice on my own to maintain correct alignment! ”

“Quicker Recovery from Hip Replacement. I’ve taken Jessica’s Posture Fitness class since the fall of 2017. A few weeks ago, I fell and broke my hip. This is my second hip replacement! Partly because of the exercises we do in Jessica’s Posture Fitness Class, I am doing better this time around than I did last time. I am stronger. The Pain Free Body Coaching Group that I took has helped me deal with the pain that accompanies a hip replacement. Thank you, Jessica, for your classes and helping us live a better quality of life!”
